How Do I Tell If My Courier Company Is Legit?

Nothing more traumatic than realizing you were dealing with a fake agent who is going to run with not only your money but your goods to. Yes, these things do happen.

Before moving forward with an agent, be sure to request their details and verify them with the company they claim to work for.

 

  1.  RESEARCH THE COMPANY ONLINE

Do they have a presence online?  A reputable courier service has a website (how else are you going to track your parcel right?) and some kind of social media presence.  Don’t forget to check for online reviews as well, whether it be via their Facebook page or Google reviews.
This is a great way to determine the legitimacy of a courier company by reading what real people have to say.

 

  1.  DON’T FALL FOR SCAM EMAILS

Are you a regular in the online world of shopping? Are you an avid user of e-commerce stores during peak seasons like Black Friday or Cyber Monday?  Then keep a lookout for scam emails, you are the perfect target.

The email may contain documents that you’re supposed to print and take to a local post office or other links, requesting to confirm your personal and payment information.  Some may even tell you to take immediate action to avoid penalties.

If it doesn’t sit right in your gut, don’t click on anything – CALL your courier service for verification. It’s the quickest and safest way to find out if these emails are legit or not.
